A really quick reflection on the Educause Conference in Perth. I am currently on Day 2 of this 3 day conference.

I have heard a number of great presentations and got a real buzz this morning from a Symposium presented by librarians from a number of institutions on PLE’s.

However, in order to prepare for this afternoons sessions, I have gone to both the community hub and the website to find the amendments……

nadda

sweet nadda

Why, in 2009 with the kind of modes of communication we are using / have access to / are in play here, are none of them (apparently) being used to keep users up to date with changes?

More bizarrely, all I can see in the Community Hub is a twitter stream feeding in from hastags #edaust09, a flickr feed, a poll about Perth as a location and a google map showing where people are currently viewing the hub from (unless I have missed something else that is obvious??).

Why on earth does this need to be behind an authenticated log in? It’s kind or rubbing against the grain for me.

Meh.

…..and still no answer as to what is happening with this afternoons sessions
