Blog Wrestling 101

Well – Edublogs (1) and Evil Sue (0). Starting to get the hang of it, but so far this software is getting the better of me. I tend to pick these things up very easily without needing instructions. I am ashamed to say, I have had to use assistance :( . I found a great site by some chap called Mike Temple which has helped me on my way with a few bits and pieces.

Good Sue (can’t believe I stooped to asking) had to help out. I lost my ‘About’ me part of my blog. Only I didn’t lose it. Different templates have different functionality. Lesson 1 I guess.

Lesson 1: Different templates have different functionality

Lesson 2: This software is not intuitive

Lesson 3: Learn patience…..these pages seem to take ages to load and it drives me nuts

Lesson 4: Talking to many people on Skype while trying to learn this is not a good idea.

Lesson 5: Have at least 2 L of coke and a block of chocolate at hand before starting.

Lesson 6: Reserve at least 8 – 10 h for just choosing your template and exploring the various functionalities!

Hi

This is that Mike Temple fellow – just thought I’d add a comment here.

Glad to see it wasn’t just me who was struggling to get Edublogs to work for them. I had to try and use the forum for instructions but had no luck as most of the questions were answered in tech talk which I don’t understand too well. I do agree, it is most certainly NOT intuitive, but it IS free and is great for educators to use in schools.

I hope you found the site of use

have fun
